Savannah Morning News Abundant daylighting, certified wood, green power and innovative wastewater technologies have contributed to developer Melaver, Inc., receiving a Gold LEED Core & Shell rating for the McDonald's restaurant located at Abercorn Common, the country's first all-retail LEED (Core & Shell) certified project in the country. Abercorn Common earned a Silver rating in April. LEED is the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, a green building rating system that takes into account measures that contribute to high performing, healthy buildings. Melaver, Inc., is a sustainable real estate developer based in Savannah; this is the company's fourth LEED project and its first Gold rating. |
